John & Becky’s Movie Review Of Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Fandango Wallace & GromitBecky and I took the kids to see “Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” yesterday. The Fandango Website at Wallace & Gromit describes the movie as follows:

“Wallace and his loyal dog, Gromit, are running their “Anti-Pesto” business, a humane pest control service. With the upcoming Giant Vegetable Contest just days away, the two are cashing in despite a growing rabbit problem at their West Wallaby Street home. When an unknown creature begins devouring residents’ vegetables at night, “Anti-Pesto” is brought in to investigate, though things aren’t quite what they seem.”

The Review
The kids really liked this movie. Corban immediately asked me, “Dad, can we get that movie when it comes out on DVD?” Becky and I enjoyed it too. The animation was great and it had a really cute story. If you haven’t seen a Wallace & Gromit claymation video before, you won’t be lost. This is definitely a great one to take the kids to, just in time for Halloween.

John & Becky’s Movie Review Of Domino

Domino Becky and I got stuck seeing Domino last night. It had an all-star cast of actors and we weren’t sure what to expect. The Fandango Website at Domino describes the movie as follows:

“Domino Harvey is a model whose roots include a famous actor for a father. Rebellious by nature, Domino abandons her fashion career and embarks on a new one: hunting down dangerous criminals as a bounty hunter. Inspired by the true story of Domino Harvey, daughter of actor Laurence Harvey..”

The Review
Becky didn’t want to see this movie based on the previews. I thought it looked like an interesting movie since it was based on a true story. Well, I was wrong. The movie had a good storyline, but it was absolutely crazy. I think they tried to go beyond the insanity of “Pulp Fiction” with this one. It was so over the top with sex and violence that it just made you wonder what kind of America we live in where there are that many people who are nuts.

The point of the movie was that there are three kinds of people in the world, the rich, the poor and everyone in between. Unfortunately, everyone in between is just as bad if not worse than the rich and the poor. Hey, I’m the first to believe and say that we are all under sin and God’s judgement, but I don’t think society is as crazy as this movie makes everyone out to be. By the way, Becky had a good nap through almost the entire film.

John & Becky’s Movie Review Of In Her Shoes

DominoBecky and I saw “In Her Shoes” with Cameron Diaz last week. The Fandango Website at In Her Shoes describes the movie as follows:

“Two sisters who share nothing but the same shoe size have a falling out due to their conflicting personalities. When one of the sisters discovers a long-lost grandmother living in Miami, she explores painful issues from her family’s past and eventually uses what she’s learned to try and make amends with her estranged sibling.”

The Review
I thought this was going to be a total “chick flick” and had very little interest in seeing it. I don’t think that the trailers did it justice. Needless to say, I went in with very low expectations and was quite surprised. We both enjoyed the film and would recommend it as being worth the trip.
