John & Becky’s Movie Review Of 3 Days To Kill

3daystokillBecky and I went to see 3 Days To Kill at the AMC Theaters in Castle Rock, CO yesterday. The Fandango website at 3 Days To Kill describes the movie as follows…

“In this heart pounding action-thriller, Kevin Costner is a dangerous international spy, who is determined to give up his high stakes life to finally build a closer relationship with his estranged wife and daughter, whom he’s previously kept at arm’s length to keep out of danger. But first, he must complete one last mission- even if it means juggling the two toughest assignments yet: hunting down the world’s most ruthless terrorist and looking after his teenage daughter for the first time in ten years, while his wife is out of town.

The Review: Becky and I thought this would be a cool flick with Kevin Costner.  Well, this movie was terrible.  Kevin Costner looked old and coughed almost the entire movie, since his character is dying from cancer.  Keep in mind, that he’s a contract killer for the CIA and he’s dying, but still has this incredible skill set.  It was totally unrealistic.  The acting was good, but the Directing was terrible.

In fact, the Directing of the film was so bad it was hard to believe how bad it was.  It was filmed in France, but sometimes the drove on the wrong side of the road.  They had full sentences where Kevin Costner’s lips were not moving.  They had cars pushed off bridges and people walk away from the car and the airbags didn’t deploy.  The list goes on and on of how poorly put together this film was.  Unfortunately, Kevin Costner couldn’t save it.

The other thing that made know sense was this hot young girl was his boss in the CIA and she looked like she maybe just graduated college.  There isn’t anyway the CIA would put someone who just started in charge of the CIA and work directly for the Director of the CIA.  The whole movie was nonsense.  The story was bad and they couldn’t decide if it was a comedy, a drama or an action film.  This was a waste of time and Conroy went and saw it with some friends and he thought the same thing.  We have to rate it as a Rental or a Don’t Bother.

John – * Don’t Bother
Becky – ** Rental
