Becky was out of town this weekend, so I took the kids to see the new Pixar animation flick Cars today at the Highlands Ranch AMC 24 theater. This theater has a great deal going for the Summer. If you go to a movie before 12PM on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday you can get in for just $5 per ticket.
The Fandango website at Cars describes the movie as follows:
“On the way to the prestigious Piston Cup Championship, a hotshot race car who cares only about winning learns about what is really important in life from the automotive inhabitants of a town along historic Route 66.”
The Review
As a car enthusiast, auto broker and the host of CoolCarGuy.com I was as anxious to see Cars as my kids. I expected Cars to be on the same level as Shrek and The Incredibles, since Pixar is great at putting out very cool animated films like DreamWorks, and they delivered once again with Cars.
Even if you’re not a fan of animated films or cars you will love the story and the life-like characters of Cars. The story has a great message for kids about putting other people first, showing respect to others and building friendships with others. What better way to educate kids on the important things in life, like building lasting relationships with others and showing respect, than with automobiles?
I’m sure we’ll be buying this one when it hits DVD and seeing it a second time while it’s in the theaters. We all liked this movie and definitely would rate it as one of the better films of 2006. Our advice is not to miss this one, even if you have to borrow a neighbor kid to take to the movies, it will be worth your time.
