Becky and I took the kids to see the new film Hugo a few weeks ago at the Regal Cinema theater in Lone Tree, CO for their $5 Sunday. The Fandango website at Hugo, describes the movie as follows:
“Orphaned and alone except for an uncle, Hugo Cabret (Asa Butterfield) lives in the walls of a train station in 1930s Paris. Hugo’s job is to oil and maintain the station’s clocks, but to him, his more important task is to protect a broken automaton and notebook left to him by his late father (Jude Law). Accompanied by the goddaughter (Chloe Grace Moretz) of an embittered toy merchant (Ben Kingsley), Hugo embarks on a quest to solve the mystery of the automaton and find a place he can call home.“
Hugo is another movie for the Holidays that has been getting great reviews by the critics and this time they are right. This is a very well done film starring Ben Kingsley and Asa Butterfield (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and The Wolfman). The story has many plot twists and it is an adaptation from a children’s book, The Adventures of Hugo Cabret. Our son Conroy had read the book and he really liked it. The movie was really good too.
This movie has a great deal of heart and it’s a very fun film that is clever and unique for the whole family. The cinematography is really cool, with great costumes and interesting characters with a great story. We all really liked it, except for Bianca who thought it was a rental.
