We went to Carlsbad, CA this year for Christmas, so as you might expect we went to the movies on Christmas Day. We actually went a few other times while we were there as well. We decided to see Molly’s Game though on Christmas Day since the previews looked really good.
This movie was really well done. The acting was good, the story was entertaining and the fact that it was a true story made it that much better. Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction and in this case Molly’s Game delivered on being a very strange flick. Especially given the fact that Molly was a world class skier from Colorado and her brother is the famous Olympic skier and football player Jeremy Bloom. It seemed really strange that she would look for success in such an odd way with her family background and opportunities.
The movie shows how Molly Bloom started running high stake poker games with high profile actors, athletes and the ultra-rich.. It takes you through her good and bad decisions and her rise and fall, including her getting involved in drugs and alcohol.
The story is fascinating and the movie is really well done. We all liked it and thought it was definitely a Don’t Miss It. This is one that will probably win some awards.
