Becky and I went to see the new film New Year’s Eve last week at the AMC theater in Castle Rock, CO. The Fandango website at New Year’s Eve describes the movie as follows:
“New Year’s Eve celebrates love, hope, forgiveness, second chances and fresh starts, in intertwining stories told amidst the pulse and promise of New York City on the most dazzling night of the year.“
The Review
New Year’s Eve is the second installment of the film Valentine’s Day with a full cast of new characters. It’s a Garry Marshall film and it’s definitely better than the first one. However, it’s definitely a chic flick and there isn’t much too the film. It shows about five different stories all going on at the same time, like the Valentine’s Day movie and you follow along with each character having a New Years Eve experience.
The movie jumped around too much and there isn’t a great deal of substance in this film. There’s a great deal of emotion, with a few good laughs at times. It jumps from being comical to serious a bit too much, but it is entertaining.
Becky liked it much better than I did, but it really wasn’t that bad of a movie. I think it makes it for a better rental, unless you’re looking for a date night movie.
