Becky and I took the kids to see TMNT on Monday for Conroy’s 9th birthday. We went to the Regal Cinemas in Littleton, Colorado. The Yahoo website at TNMT describes the movie as follows:
“ After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their rat sensei, Master Splinter, becomes worried when strange things begin to brew in New York City. Tech-industrialist Max Winters is amassing an army of ancient monsters to apparently take over the world. And only one super-ninja fighting team can stop them…”
The Review
TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) was originally a comic book series that has a very interesting beginning. If you’re interested in the history of the TMNT story and how it all began, you should check out this Wikipedia article and read about it. It’s really pretty cool.
The animation in this movie was fantastic and the story was definitely right out of a comic book. All the kids really liked this flick and I thought it was good too. With the exception of having the voice of the old Chinese dude from the movie “The Karate Kid” be the voice behind their sensei, Master Splinter, which didn’t really fit the mutant rat. I found his character to be a bit annoying. The other characters were “Kowabunga Dude”.
Becky didn’t like this movie, but was glad that Conroy and our other two enjoyed it. I thought it was a blast and definitely Worth The Trip, but I like the X-Men and comic book characters, even when they are mutant ninja turtles.
